One of the goals of the program “Aviation Management and Sustainability” is the ability to see aviation from the inside, gain or expand work experience, and obtain new professional connections. All this is provided by 312 hours of professional training at airports and other aviation companies, for example, at Riga International Airport.

It is impossible to underestimate the professional connections that are made among fellow students. A large number of top and middle managers from aviation companies in Europe and the world study on the program. The atmosphere of student life, joint lectures, practice, emotions after exams, scientific disputes translates into a long friendship, which undoubtedly helps in a professional career; Artur Saveljev, Commercial Director of Riga International Airport and a lecturer at the Aviation Management program, also confirmed this in a recent discussion during a recent discussion of aviation experts at TSI.

What Sustainability Means for an Aviation Manager

The Master’s Program in Aviation Management and Sustainability aims to train aviation managers with a focus on sustainability in aviation development, which is especially important in the period both of a pandemic and after it. As both Arturs Kokars, Director of Aviation department at Ministry of Transport of Latvia and Vyacheslav Cheglatonyev, Commercial Director of Odessa International Airport (Ukraine) and a graduate of TSI claimed in the recent aviation experts’ discussion at TSI, the pandemic is not just a challenge, it could also be an opportunity for better changes. To support this vision, the Aviation Management and Sustainability program envisages adherence to the UN sustainable development criteria and gives knowledge and skills, which affect how economic aspects in aviation are covered in the module “Strategic management and change management in aviation”, as well as social and ecological aspects (for example, in the course “Quality and safety management in aviation”).

The professional double degree Master’s Program Aviation Management and Sustainability is a unique opportunity to pursue a career in aviation with a diploma combining TSI’s 100 years of aviation education experience with the globally recognized quality of British education in UWE.
